While breastfeeding is natural, it involves some learning and plenty of practice. Rest assured that your body and your newborn baby are both designed for breastfeeding. As your baby grew during pregnancy your body was also preparing for breastfeeding. After your labor and delivery your hormones are adjusting and preparing to make milk for your baby. The first few weeks can be challenging and a lactation consultation can help you problem-solve and alleviate your concerns. I am honored and pleased to offer you support and information that will help you achieve the breastfeeding relationship you would like to enjoy with your baby.
Why is my practice named Nurturing Mothers Nurturing Babies? I believe that you are the expert on your baby. I will nurture you with support and information so that you can nurture your baby through breastfeeding.
What is a Lactation Consultation? Lactation consultations take place in the privacy of your home. I will observe a feeding, take a thorough history of you and your baby, and perform an assessment of your breasts and your baby’s mouth. Together we will formulate a plan of care that works for you.
